Markham September 15, 2021 – In response to a disturbing piece of misinformation was left at doors of voters around Markham-Unionville today, Liberal candidate Paul Chiang issued the following statement:
“Markham-Unionville needs an MP who focuses on building us up, not dividing us apart. As a former police officer who has built a career around public service, I value integrity, honesty, trust, and respect above all else. Our riding deserves better.”
Spreading falsehoods about the Liberal record on banning assault-style weapons, keeping drugs off our streets, and fighting crime, the flyer was particularly troubling because it resembled previous communication from Bob Saroya’s campaign. An official complaint has been filed with Elections Canada.
